So I’m finally back making youtube videos(if I don’t fall into the shadow realm again) so LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SONIC SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED
Sanic the Hedgemahog
So Sonic Forces, I’m not too sure about that name, got new trailers today. One with the instrumental main theme of the game, one a cinematic, and one is gameplay and it looks pretty good. Although Sanic the Hedgemahog hasn’t had as much success on consoles in recent years save for a few great titles, Sonic Forces looks like it’s gonna be pretty great. Also, the handheld Sonic Games for the Gameboy Advance and others were S tier. Because Sonic Forces is basically Sonic Generations 2 it’ll probably be great. I also have no Idea when they got away from “Sonic Mania” because that name sounds so hype. Sonic Forces sounds kinda lame but maybe it’ll be some kind of storyline where all the FORCES of all the Sanic characters band together to fight the DARK SIDE of the world. IT’S GONNA BE SANIC X: THE LAST HEDGEHOG. All jokes aside this was the best part of the trailer: cute baby classic Sonic stylin on em somethin fierce.

Supercon Retrooooooooooo
Is that title grammatically correct? Of course not but that’s one of the many benefits of having my own blog now so LUMP OFF! Don’t actually lump off though unless you have lumps. If that’s the case, then I’m clearly talking about a sensitive subject for you. Anyway, Supercon Retro aka. Supercon blast from the past was the latest convention in the South Florida scene where I reside and I attended all weekend and it was amazing. Florida Supercon which is shaping up to be as big a convention as Megacon in Orlando started off very small and humble. There weren’t many big name stars trying to attend or extremely inflated prices it was a rather small community of nerdy folk to get together and make smores on the roof of the hotel. Not that I did that of course because the sign on the door that goes to the roof says no trespassing so of course I would neverrrrr… So over the last couple of years Supercon has gotten a little too big for its britches and it became so popular and so crowded that they had to switch the venue to a larger convention center. You’d think this would be a great thing what with the popularity and all that but the new convention center just didn’t feel right to me and still hasn’t felt right to this day. It’s not a bad venue and it’s much larger which allows for more accommodations for guests and con-goers alike but it just seemed off. My friends also had the same feeling but we go to the cons regardless.
Supercon Retro brought it back to the original venue and it instantly felt right. There was more life and everyone was feeling it Mr. Crabs. The most surprising part of it all was how many people actually showed up considering this technically wasn’t the BIG convention but maybe that just goes to show how much we all loved that venue. What do I know though? I’m just some dude who goes to cons and applies for panels that get denied even though most of them are always the SAME PANELS OVER AND OVER SO WHY NOT ME? WHY NOT WILL? Sorry about that anyway enjoy these pictures of me with a great Crocodile cosplayer and the BEST Vash the Stampede I’ve ever seen.

After Binge-Watching Samurai Jack
So after binge-watching the four Samurai Jack episodes not only have I realized how much I didn’t appreciate the show when I was younger…well I did appreciate it but I wish I would’ve appreciated it more because this show has me feeling some type of way. Basically, this season has been amazing from start to finish. The first episode with THE TWO CUTE GIRL ALIEN ROBOT WHATEVERS TALKING IN EMOJIS WAS THE CUTEST SHIT I SWEAR. Showing Jack using a gun and driving a motorcycle with no explanation and no dialogue was beautiful and I honestly can’t even bring myself to find the words to describe how I felt. My best bud and I were legitimately speechless because there was never a time for us to say anything really. There was never a time where we weren’t completely enthralled by what was happening on the screen. From the opening to when he fought that jazziest robot with the sword that made a vibration frequency that BREAKS other swords I mean these writers were waiting for this. Adult Swim picking up this show was the best thing that could’ve happened because most of the show’s audience who watched it oh so long ago are now adults or at least young adults. The gap between the last season and this final one makes it feel even more real. We also had a major gap in our lives just like Jack and while we actually age unlike him, we’ve grown and experienced life just like he has albeit without robots and other things always trying to kill us. So after-binge watching the first four episodes I’ve come to find a newfound respect for it and when it’s all over I expect to be crying all over my living room.
Thoughts on One Piece 862
So scrolling on tumblr has already shown me quite a lot in regards to the latest One Piece chapter. Some readers and fans aren’t too happy about the way Pudding has been portrayed and they have even said things like “I’M NEVER READING THIS MANGA AGAIN” or “ODA CAN’T WRITE FEMALE CHARACTERS.” Basically, these readers wanted pudding to be evil for the sake of being evil? I’m not entirely sure what they want actually. What I am sure of however is that they consider Sanji being himself and telling her that her eye is beautiful without a second thought to be another cliche “man has to tell woman she’s beautiful” scenario which obviously doesn’t sit well with these readers. Pudding hears Sanji genuinely compliment her third eye and she breaks down in tears. In a short one to two page flashback we see what has made Pudding so bitter and cruel. She wasn’t going to let anyone else laugh at her third eye again even going as far as stabbing a kid when she was younger.
While these readers can have their own point of view, my point of view is from a Sanji fan. A Sanji fan who hasn’t gotten to see his favorite character in One Piece truly be himself in a long time. A fan who finally gets an arc dedicated to his favorite character. The scene with Sanji immediately expressing how taken aback he is at her beautiful third eye isn’t a cliche but it’s meant to showcase Sanji. He knows that Pudding will try to kill him. He knows the entire wedding was a sham and that she was playing him all along but his first instinct, the thing he does before even making sure he’s safe, is exclaim how beautiful his three eyed bride to be is. The point of the chapter is to show that even with all of this sadness, all of this hate, and all of this hardship that Sanji has had to bear he’s still the same as he was when we first saw him on the Baratie and Pudding knowing that she has to kill him couldn’t bring herself to do it. Why? Because Sanji forever wears his heart on his sleeve. Uh or on his eyebrow. Either way you get the point.
